2026 COMMONWEALTH GAMESAustralia continued to show the Commonwealth how it’s done in the pool, with the nation reaping multiple golds on day five of the competition taking place in Glasgow, Scotland. Collecting another Commonwealth Games victory was 24-year-old Lani Pallister, with the Olympic relay medalist busting out a time of 8:11.12 to destroy the women’s 800m freestyle this evening. As for Pallister, her 8:11.12 masterclass easily erased the former Commonwealth Games Record of 8:13.59 Olympic champion and recently retired Aussie Ariarne Titmus established four years ago in Birmingham. This is due to the fact that this year represents the first-ever showing of the 1500m freestyle for women at a Commonwealth Games. Titmus actually took things one step further four years ago, adding the 200m free to her list of victims at that edition of the Commonwealth Games.
