Speaking to the Commonwealth Games media, Ross McConnell said: "I'm absolutely honoured and delighted to be here representing Scotland."
But he's here, and so are some of his teammates from the North East.
"Ross is also one of the coaches at North East Warriors, and his experience is invaluable to the team.
