June 11-13, 2026 (BISHOFTU, Ethiopia): IGAD successfully conducted its First Internal Coordination Workshop for the European Union-funded project, ‘EU Support for Facilitating Regional Stabilization in the Horn of Africa.’ Prior to implementation, IGAD developed a three-month action plan to initiate project activities, underscoring the importance of strong internal coordination among implementing units. Discussions also focused on harmonizing planned interventions, avoiding duplication, and establishing effective coordination, reporting, and communication mechanisms to guide project implementation. The workshop forms part of IGAD’s broader efforts to advance regional peace and securit, reinforcing the long-standing partnership between IGAD and the European Union. This activity is implemented by IGAD with the support of the European Union through the project ‘EU Support for Facilitating Regional Stabilization in the Horn of Africa.’
