The Knicks have a tricky offseason dilemma regarding Karl-Anthony Towns, Jared Schwartz of the New York Post writes. Towns will make $57.1MM next season and holds a $61MM option on his contract for the 2027/28 season. He is eligible for a four-year extension worth a projected $272MM, a staggering average annual value of $68MM, Schwartz notes. If Towns chooses to decline the option and test the market next offseason, he could sign for the projected standard veteran maximum of $266.6MM over four years. It remains to be seen if Towns will do the same and sign an extension before next season.
