Police take person into custody on B&O Trail after shooting in SpeedwayOfficers with the Speedway Police Department responded July 28, 2026, to a domestic disturbance report that involved shots fired but resulted in no serious injuries, according to Lt. Angel M. Rodriguez, public information officer for the department. One person was taken into custody Tuesday night while the investigation continued. That’s in the Speedway Cunningham Park housing subdivision, near the dead end for West 16th Street west of Lynhurst Road. Officers established a perimeter and conducted a brief foot pursuit, leading to the apprehension of the person on the B&O Trail in the 6000 block without further incident, Rodriguez said. The Speedway Police Department said it will provide additional information as it becomes available and appropriate.
