Kirk's early absence, though unfortunate for his career, may inadvertently open the door for the 49ers' more exciting players, namely Pearsall and Stribling. While injuries are never an outright good thing, Kirk being sidelined may actually help the offense as a whole in the long run. If Stribling and Pearsall prove to be as good as advertised, Kirk may just be the odd man out in the Bay.
