President Donald Trump said he plans to invite a teenage lifeguard and his family to the White House after the young man battled massive waves to rescue a young boy at Seabright Beach. In a Truth Social post Tuesday, Trump praised the lifeguard’s bravery and suggested that the boy who was rescued could also be invited to the White House. “We’re going to bring this heroic young man, and his family, into the White House with, perhaps, the boy he saved, to give him a High Civilian Honor,” Trump wrote. Scott Vander Dussen, who filmed the rescue, said it was the most intense rescue he had ever witnessed. After a relentless fight against the waves, another lifeguard joined the effort, and together they brought the boy safely back to shore.
