The crash occurred on Western Way at 9.55am this morning (July 28) as police were responding to an incident. An officer and the driver of a second vehicle were checked over at the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital as a precaution. A Met Police spokesperson said: "At around 09:55hrs on Tuesday, 28 July, police responding to an incident were involved in a collision with a car on Western Way, West Thamesmead. "An officer and the driver of the second vehicle were assessed at the scene by paramedics. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life changing, but they were taken to hospital as a precaution."
