The Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations has donated 2,000 laptops to the University of Ghana under the Government’s One Million Coders Programme to support digital skills development among students.
The presentation increases the total number of laptops supplied to the University under the initiative to 2,500, following an earlier donation of 500 devices.
During the ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Nana Aba Appiah Amfo, announced that the institution had become the first tertiary institution in Ghana to permanently integrate the Government’s One Million Coders Programme into its academic curriculum.
ADVERTISEMENTMinister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George, commended the University for what he described as a bold and far-sighted decision.
Samuel Nartey George said embedding the One Million Coders Programme into the University’s curriculum would ensure that every graduating student acquires practical digital skills needed to compete effectively in the global economy.
