Stoughton's police chief sues town, demanding to keep working amid dispute

The police chief of Stoughton, Massachusetts, has taken her dispute with the town over her job to court, and she's received the backing of the town's firefighter union.
Stoughton Police Chief Donna McNamara on Monday filed a civil lawsuit claiming the town and its manager breached their contract in their effort to force her out.

NBC10 Boston has reached out to the town for comment about McNamara's lawsuit and the firefighter union's statement.
About 50 people appeared at a Tuesday night select board meeting to support McNamara; Calter didn't attend.
