South Florida ICE Surge Triggers High-Stakes Press Conference

Immigrant rights advocates, community leaders, elected officials, and affected families will gather outside the Miramar Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Check-In Office on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. to address a recent rise in federal immigration arrests across South Florida.
During the conference, speakers plan to urge the City of Miami to end policies that support federal enforcement, specifically citing its involvement in the federal 287(g) program.
Speakers will address how increased enforcement impacts local residents, workers, and businesses.
ICE Arrests 32 Illegal Aliens In Florida Enforcement Operation“The recent surge in immigration arrests is tearing families apart and creating a climate of fear across our communities,” said Yareliz Mendez-Zamora, an organizer for the American Friends Service Committee.
The press conference is set for Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the ICE-ERO Office, located at 2805 SW 145th Ave in Miramar, Florida.
