Former traveller James Brown was given the go-ahead to build the house at 11 East Road back in 2018. But in April 2024, an enforcement notice was served following an investigation about the siting of a residential static caravan on the land. Then last year, an extension was added to the static caravan - also without planning permission. They have family members nearby in Irvine and local family support is important to their stability and welfare. It added: "Before the family came to the site, the land was insecure, affected by fly-tipping and subject to vandalism.
