Flight THY1GJ, travelling from Istanbul to Toronto, made the landing at around 7:30 pm after circling over the North Sea, possibly ditching fuel to allow the aircraft to land, according to flight data. Several fire engines attended the scene. The aircraft is believed to have landed safely. The cause of the incident is currently unknown.
