The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has placed the region under the alert from 9am on Wednesday, July 29 until 9am on Thursday, July 30. Conditions are expected to remain dry throughout the day, with less than a five per cent chance of rain and generally light winds. By Thursday morning, temperatures are expected to climb again, reaching around 20°C by 9am as the alert period ends. The alert forms part of a broader warning across southern England as temperatures are expected to rise during the week. While older people and those with underlying health conditions are most at risk, officials warned that high temperatures can impact anyone.
