Tony Evers declared a state of emergency Tuesday, July 28 after severe storms swept through eastern Wisconsin on Monday, July 27, including at least one confirmed tornado. Preliminary surveys indicate EF-3 damage in the Menasha and Appleton area, according to the governor's office. Evers says he signed the declaration, Executive Order 300, to help state agencies, local partners and utilities coordinate their response. The State Emergency Operations Center was raised to a Level 3 on Monday, and multiple fire, law enforcement, public works and utility crews have been deployed to affected areas.
