LYONS, N.Y. — New York State Police arrested a Rochester man accused of using stolen credit card information to buy thousands of dollars in gift cards at a Wayne County drug store. Jerome D. Hightower, 27, was arrested July 26 following an investigation into fraudulent purchases at Kinney Drugs in the Village of Lyons. Troopers say Hightower went into the store on July 21 and bought 15 Visa gift cards worth $7,619.25 with stolen credit card information. Troopers also learned Hightower tried to do the same thing at the same store on July 11, but the transaction was declined. When Troopers were interviewing him, they say he tried to identify himself with a different name and birthday.
