‌The Tarka Trail is a 180 mile walking and cycling trail in North Devon and Exmoor and features the longest, traffic free cycle route in the UK. I chose the Braunton to Meeth section, or the ‘Southern Loop’, where the bike trail starts. The Tarka Trail from Braunton leads straight past the Royal Marines Barracks Chivenor, guarded by fencing along the way.
