— West Scranton started fast and held off a charge by Western Wayne to win the Lackawanna Football Conference Division II game, 28-7, on Friday night. Just over two minutes into the game, West Scranton’s Brayden Rodney scooped up a loose ball on a backward pass and returned it 40 yards for a touchdown. “I saw the ball on the ground and thought why not just pick it up,” Rodney said. After winning its opening game, West Scranton dropped five straight contests before knocking off Western Wayne. “We’ve had a lot of team bonding, we’re all close friends, and it’s awesome to have a family like this,” he said.
