Jammu Tawi, Jul 28: Jammu and Kashmir recorded a decline in cyber crime cases in 2024 compared to the previous two years, while Ladakh reported only one such case during the year, the Ministry of Home Affairs informed the Lok Sabha on Monday. According to the official data, said Jammu and Kashmir registered 173 cyber crime cases in 2022, 185 in 2023 and 114 in 2024. Police disposed of 123, 130 and 94 cases, respectively, while courts disposed of 7, 9 and 8 cases during the three years. In Ladakh, three cyber crime cases were registered in 2022, one in 2023 and one in 2024. The minister informed the House that the Centre has strengthened cyber crime prevention through the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C), cyber forensic laboratories, the Cyber Crime Prevention against Women and Children (CCPWC) scheme, and nationwide awareness campaigns.
