Rippey said she and Newsom first had sex after she wore a white dress to a mutual friend's wedding. Rippey said she joined Newsom's successful mayoral campaign in 2003 as an aide, working alongside her then-husband, Alex Tourk. "Hey—you look really good," Rippey recalled Newsom saying.
