X is now one step closer to that goal, rolling out its first banking tool in the US with X Money. X Money is a payment platform and financial service that gives you access to instant transfers, a digital wallet, peer-to-peer payments, and more, all through the X app, running alongside its social media features. To access X Money, you’ll need to be a Premium or Premium+ subscriber based in the US. Soon after taking over the service formerly known as Twitter, Musk expressed interest in incorporating payment technology. “If it involves money, it’ll be on our platform," Musk told X employees in late 2023.
