Residents of Bukit Damansara, backed by prominent figures, protesting against the planned redevelopment of Wisma Damansara into twin 60-storey towers. KUALA LUMPUR : Nearly 300 Bukit Damansara residents, joined by singer Sheila Majid, former CIMB chairman Nazir Razak, former minister Khairy Jamaluddin and activist Ambiga Sreenevasan, took to the streets today to protest against the planned redevelopment of Wisma Damansara into two 60-storey towers. “You can build, but don’t build two 60-storey buildings and destroy our environment,” he said during the protest. Sheila, who has lived there since the 1970s, said Bukit Damansara was once a peaceful, green haven. “I believe the Datuk Bandar, who is a town planner at heart, does not want 60-storey buildings here,” he said.
