A man was assaulted and robbed as he tried to snatch a haul of stolen goods from a shoplifter fleeing a Christchurch store. The incident happened at the One Stop store on Barrack Road around 6.30pm yesterday (Monday), when the local member of the public intervened after the offender managed to get away from the shop. He discovered afterwards that some possessions were missing, which he presumed were stolen by his assailant.
