Lachie Kennedy has hailed a new golden age in Australian track after he and Torrie Lewis both broke 100m national records while capturing Commonwealth Games medals.
Kennedy ended Australia’s agonising wait for a men’s sprint medal by taking silver before Lewis added bronze in the women’s event.

“Far out ... we got a medal in every event we competed in,” Kennedy said after both he and Lewis threatened to win thrilling 100m finals.
