A 68-year-old Douglas man remains in the Coffee County Jail after he was captured attempting to flee a deputy. When the officer finally ended the pursuit via PIT maneuver, the suspect, identified as Carl Leslie Chaney, 68, allegedly had methamphetamine in his possession. The officer attempted to stop the vehicle but it did not stop, eventually accelerating to upwards of 80 mph. The car traveled to Rocky Pond Road where the officer ended the pursuit with a PIT maneuver. After the pursuit ended, the officers deployed a K9, which alerted on the Grand Marquis.
