Dr Ahirao said there are several myths in current economic management, but the “household” myth is the biggest myth of all.
The logic of the myth goes like this: “Just like a household, the government shouldn’t max out its credit card.
The government doesn’t use taxes or borrowing – so the balance of the Crown Settlement Account is irrelevant.
Edwards added: “We can discard the idea that the government is like a household.
