Pakistan Navy promoted four senior Commodores to the rank of Rear Admiral to strengthen its leadership, recognizing decades of distinguished operational, command, and strategic service. Commissioned in 1996 in the Operations Branch, Rear Admiral Muhammad Umair graduated from Pakistan Navy War College Lahore and the National Defence University Islamabad. He also completed the Communication Command Course in China and the Naval Staff College Course in the United States. He is currently the Commandant of the Pakistan Naval Academy, Karachi, and is a recipient of the Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military). Rear Admiral Shahid Wasif joined the Pakistan Navy in 1996 through the Operations Branch.
