WABASHA, Minn. — Officials investigating a boat crash on Lake Pepin that claimed the lives of three people are still awaiting autopsy results. Three people died when the 27-foot pontoon boat they were in collided with a barge on Lake Pepin late Saturday, July 11, 2026. The two agencies are leading the investigation into the incident, the Wabasha County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Monday. Officials from the Wisconsin DNR said the agency won’t comment publicly about the investigation while it’s ongoing and open. The community fundraiser through GoFundMe is intended to help their families with funeral and memorial expenses and other financial hardships.
