ST. CLAIR — The Nativity BVM Green Wave used a gritty performance to defeat the Mahanoy Area Golden Bears 20-6 on Friday night. The interception was just the first of what turned into a list of offensive woes for the Green Wave in the first half. Nativity struggled to find any offensive momentum throughout the half as Mahanoy Area’s front seven contained Colt Mason and running back Connor Felty. Heading into halftime, Mahanoy held a 6-0 lead with 78 yards of total offense and just 48 yards outside of Rucker’s touchdown run. The Green Wave relied on the senior quarterback’s legs in the second half to put together extended drives.
