The Minnesota Vikings have suspended defensive backs coach Gerald Alexander in response to his arrest on April 26 in Edina for driving while impaired.
ADVERTISEMENT“I take full responsibility for the situation I put myself in and apologize for not meeting the mark,” Alexander said in a statement.
The suspension for Alexander went into effect on July 24 and will conclude on Aug. 13.
He was hired by the Vikings on Feb. 3 to take over for former defensive backs coach Daronte Jones.
“Following Gerald’s arrest earlier this spring, we remained in communication with the NFL while awaiting the outcome of the legal process,” the Vikings said in a statement.
