Understanding Alzheimer’s Earlier StagesNATIONWIDE, U.S. (WDEF) – More than 7 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease, but many people still do not recognize what the earlier stages of the disease can look like. Dennis was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2023. Now, she is using her experience to help others recognize that an Alzheimer’s diagnosis does not define a person’s entire life. Health advocates say recognizing Alzheimer’s earlier can help create opportunities for more conversations, support and resources for people living with the disease and their families. For Dennis, sharing her story is about helping others understand Alzheimer’s and reminding people that there is still life, purpose and connection after a diagnosis.
