Lt. Gov. Beckwith assumes prominent role in national lieutenant governor organization
['Marilyn Odendahl']
THE INDIANA CITIZEN
Micah Beckwith was elected as Indiana’s lieutenant governor in 2025, which is the first elected office he has ever held.
Micah Beckwith has been elected to the executive committee of the bipartisan National Lieutenant Governors Association, giving the first-term Republican a role in helping guide the organization that represents lieutenant governors across the country.
Beckwith was selected July 23 by his fellow lieutenant governors to serve as an at-large member of the association’s 2026-27 Executive Committee during the group’s annual meeting.
NLGA’S website says the executive committee serves as the governing body of the National Lieutenant Governors Association, which is a nonpartisan organization founded in 1962 to promote collaboration among lieutenant governors and other second-in-command state officials.
The executive committee also includes lieutenant governors from both parties representing Idaho, Utah, Vermont, Rhode Island, North Carolina and Delaware.
