The province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) is investigating an incident in Prescott Monday afternoon in which a 43-year-old man suffered a serious injury while being arrested by provincial and Ottawa police officers. Article contentShortly after 12:30 p.m. on Monday, July 27, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) Squad took an individual into custody on Prescott Centre Drive in Prescott, Grenville County OPP reported Tuesday. The OPP notified the SIU, which has invoked its mandate. The OPP is not commenting further on the matter while it remains under SIU investigation. The SIU director determines whether the officers’ conduct warrants criminal charges.
