A major safety improvement project at the intersection of Ann Arbor-Saline Road and Ellsworth Road will begin Saturday, Aug. 1, bringing an estimated eight-week closure to one of southern Washtenaw County’s busy intersections. According to the WCRC, the project is the result of its ongoing monitoring of traffic patterns and crash safety data. Crews will lower the hill to the southwest of the intersection, improving the line of sight for motorists stopped on Ellsworth Road looking for traffic on Ann Arbor-Saline Road. “This project is a vital component of our commitment to infrastructure safety,” said WCRC Project Manager Felix Weber. The formal detour route will be available on its Ann Arbor-Saline Road project webpage.
