The SGA president serves as the primary voice for students, working with university leadership to advocate for student needs and oversee campus initiatives. The vice president leads the Student Senate and helps strengthen communication between the SGA and the student body. For Nechaeva, leadership has become increasingly focused on creating lasting change rather than simply completing projects. Earlier this year, she became the first Southeastern student appointed to the Louisiana Board of Regents, having previously served on the University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors. My goal is to make sure I’m bringing the perspectives of Southeastern students instead of my own.
