Disa Hunter, case worker and admin support, said Ms Goodlad had brought them together because of their different backgrounds and experience. In a speech shared on Sunday evening, Ms Goodlad said her team was “deliberately islander-led” and had an “islander mindset”. Writing in her column for The Shetland Times earlier this month Ms Goodlad said the process of building teams brought her a “lot of energy”. Ms Goodlad said that despite receiving some “great CVs” including a couple of Ivy league qualifications, she chose islanders.
