LSS celebrates the grand opening of the Center for Changing Lives - UniversityLutheran Social Service of Minnesota (LSS) today celebrated the grand opening of the Center for Changing Lives – University, a new community hub that brings together housing, early childhood education and comprehensive support services for children, youth and young families in Saint Paul. The center is expected to serve more than 1,100 children, youth and young families each year in Saint Paul. “We are thrilled to open the Center for Changing Lives – University and welcome individuals and families into a space designed to help them thrive,” said Alexis Oberdorfer, senior vice president of services at LSS. The Center for Changing Lives – University is modeled after successful LSS centers in Minneapolis and Duluth, extending a proven approach that integrates multiple services under one roof. The second floor is home to LSS’ Youth Transitional Housing Program – Rezek, with 19 apartments serving youth and young families experiencing homelessness.
