Minnesota Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell and new General Manager Nolan Teasley chatted with the media Tuesday ahead of opening training camp Wednesday.
This year, the team is emphasizing competition, physicality and patience, while making clear that the team’s quarterback battle remains undecided.
O’Connell described training camp as his favorite time of year and said Minnesota plans to approach practices with a greater emphasis on physicality.
While NFL rules prevent teams from practicing in full pads until early next week, O’Connell said the Vikings want to develop a more physical identity, particularly along the line of scrimmage.
Both O’Connell and Teasley highlighted the recent extension of veteran right tackle Brian O’Neill, calling him a foundational piece of the franchise.
