Written by Faith, Booth, Jessie Jo Dillon, and Chris Tompkins, “Pearl Handled Pistol” conjures the spirit of the Chicks and the Pistol Annies with a bit of a Bakersfield guitar and the trio’s distinct voices trading turns on the verses. Though no plans have been announced for any further projects together, we don’t think anyone would object to them transitioning the song into a full-fledged Pearl-Handled-Pistol Annies album. Currently on tour with Post Malone, Faith will launch her Cherry Valley Forever tour this fall. Booth’s new album (and first for Lost Highway Records), Love Ain’t for the Faint of Heart, will be released on Sept. 18. She’s been spending her summer on the road as well, opening for Ella Langley in select cities.
