Intimacy Horror ‘Corpus’ Feels Downright Claustrophobic [Fantasia Review]Corpus Credit: Yellow Veil PicturesI wish I could say an on-again, off-again lover never invited me to a big deserted house with the false promise of fun, where I would watch them instead be seduced by mysterious gay sirens.
But unfortunately, Corrin Evans’ film Corpus is a little too relatable.
And for all its horror, Corpus shines in how it’s tender or teasing, or both at the same time.
Speaking on her intentions for Corpus, Evans said, “I wanted to become the kind of director I wished for when I was IC-ing: open, trusting, collaborative and giving my coordinator space to work.”
Maybe even more than how Corpus is in conversation with previous horror movies, I loved thinking about how Corpus fits into the queer cinema canon.
