FY25 Audit Update: Despite BOF Chair’s Legal Objections, BOS Approves $1.3 Million in Budget Transfers
['Jarret Liotta']
Good Morning Wilton
Key Points The Board of Selectmen unanimously approved $1.3 million in retroactive FY25 budget transfers needed to complete Wilton’s overdue audit.
Although the transfers were approved, selectmen acknowledged unresolved questions about financial oversight, approval authority and whether required processes were followed.
Why It Matters: The transfer vote moves Wilton closer to completing its overdue FY25 audit, but unresolved questions about financial oversight, approval authority and governance continue to shape the town’s response to the budget overages.
“The good news is that the town Board of Selectmen budget is [now] under budget for ’25, roughly $70,000,” Savo said.
“In general the salary line items were mostly under budget, but there were a few that were over budget,” Savo said.
