“Lost in You” is Ackerman’s latest song from his forthcoming album, Challenger Deep. As Ackerman himself says, the song evolved from a guitar riff that he used to play repeatedly before writing lyrics for it. The guitar riff has a touch of dissonance to it that carries through the song like the moments of uncertainty that it describes. “When love starts to turn,” Ackerman sings on the chorus, “I feel lost in this world/ Just exactly as I’m/ Lost in you.” “Lost in You” ends up a rich, melodic piece that manages to combine both the fulfillment of and longing for love.
