Stephen Robert Jones, 30 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said his actions resulted in a goat hanging himself. Police said that Jones tied a runner, with a large silver chain, around a goat’s neck, to a tree of a yard of a vacant home on Maple Road. Jones then failed to provide daily care and was found hanging by the chain from a concreate wall. The chain that the goat had around his neck became embedded into the back of it’s neck, causing a gaping wound. Reports went on to say that Jones then failed to provide medical attention to the animal.
