New renal facility at Surrey Memorial Hospital adds 21 new hemodialysis treatment stations

PEOPLE in Surrey and surrounding communities have greater access to dialysis with the opening of a new renal facility at Surrey Memorial Hospital.
Located on the northwestern corner of the Surrey Memorial Hospital campus, the standalone renal facility adds 21 hemodialysis treatment stations, increasing the hospital’s total to 60 and increasing dialysis treatment capacity by approximately 55%.
“This new building makes a real difference for our patients,” said Dr. Bradford Strijack, site lead of nephrology, Surrey Memorial Hospital.
Additionally, work is continuing at Surrey Memorial Hospital to renew and expand surgical services, with some renovations complete and work on the final operating room beginning in 2026.
Nicole Robson, president and CEO, Surrey Hospitals Foundation, said: “The new Surrey renal facility represents a significant expansion of the regional renal program on the Surrey Memorial Hospital campus.
