The National Center for Cannabis Research and Education at the University of Mississippi is partnering with Southern Sky Brands on a clinical study examining how cannabidiol (CBD) affects sleep among adults. Researchers will evaluate several sleep-related outcomes, including sleep duration, overall sleep quality and participant-reported measures of wellness. The National Center for Cannabis Research and Education (NCCRE) said the research is intended to generate stronger scientific evidence regarding the potential use of cannabinoid-based products for sleep-related concerns. Researchers said the findings could support future studies and help patients, healthcare professionals and policymakers make evidence-based decisions regarding medical marijuana. Additional information regarding participant enrollment, the study timeline and eventual results will be released later, according to the announcement.
