Wisconsin Democratic Sen. Tammy Baldwin is demanding answers from the Trump administration about PFAS cleanup that’s been delayed up to 20 years for nearly 200 military sites nationwide, including lengthy delays in Wisconsin. The longest delays have been seen at Wisconsin Air National Guard bases, including Truax Field in Madison and Volk Field near Camp Douglas. However, one of Madison’s wells near the base was shut down in 2019 after PFAS contamination was traced back to Truax Field. However, such investigations have not yet begun for the General Mitchell Air National Guard Base in Milwaukee, Badger Army Ammunition Plant near Baraboo and the Madison Army Aviation Support Facility in Madison.
