To prepare for anal sex, some folks prefer to douche using enema bulbs and/or disposable water bottles, and others prefer not to and follow their normal hygienic routine instead. An upside to douching is that you may feel more confident in your cleanliness and have a more comfortable experience. However, it is not recommended to regularly douche since the anal lining is sensitive and consistent douching can lead to irritation.
