Nellore: Consultant Interventional Radiologist Dr Nerella Krishna Teja successfully performed an AI-assisted Microwave Ablation (MWA) on an 85-year-old patient with a complex liver tumor at Medicover Hospital, Nellore. Given the patient’s existing coronary artery disease, lung conditions, and the tumor’s proximity to the lungs, conventional open surgery posed severe risks. Utilizing advanced imaging and AI-based lesion planning, the team precisely targeted and ablated the tumor without damaging healthy surrounding tissue. Dr Krishna Teja stated that AI-driven interventional radiology drastically reduces the need for major surgery in high-risk patients.
