Vijayawada: Persons with upper limb amputations, particularly those from poor and underprivileged families, should make use of the ‘Cheyutha’ project, under which advanced LN4 prosthetic hands are being provided free of cost, said Dr G Samaram, chairman of the Indian Red Cross Society, NTR District.
They said that many people who lose a hand not only suffer from physical disability but also lose their means of livelihood.
The programme will be conducted in Guntur on August 2, Vizianagaram on August 16, and Anantapur on August 30.
Persons with an upper limb amputation below the elbow, with at least four inches of residual limb, are eligible to apply for the programme.
Dr Samaram and Ravi Prakash appealed to all eligible persons to take advantage of this humanitarian initiative.
