Guntur: Ponnur Rural police on Tuesday arrested seven persons and recovered 85 water motors and 18 kgs of copper wire worth Rs 15,33,000 from their possession. According to SP Vakul Jindal, 91 water motor theft cases were registered from June 3 to July 19 in Ponnur Rural, Ponnur Town, Chebrolu, Tenali Rural and Tsunduru police stations. Based on the closed-circuit camera footage, police arrested six accused and one receiver who had purchased stolen motors. The accused stole motors set up roadside. The police also seized a car and auto used for stealing the motors.
